A sound bath is a meditative experience where you're gently immersed in sound vibrations created through instruments like singing bowls, chimes, and tuning forks. These sounds are designed to soothe the nervous system, calm the mind, and promote healing. The roots of sound healing go back thousands of years with traditions found in ancient Greece, India, Egypt, and Tibet. These cultures recognized the power of sound as a tool for restoration, spiritual connection, and shifting states of consciousness. Today, sound baths are often experienced in yoga studios and healing spaces, but their power remains timeless.

The Connection Between Soundbaths and Mindfulness

Similarly, a sound bath creates a container where the mind can settle and the body can rest, guided by sound as an anchor to the present, here and now. You don’t need to have any background in meditation, mindfulness, or sound healing to attend. Whether this is your first time exploring these practices or a continuation of your journey, you are warmly welcome. The space is designed to be inclusive, gentle, and supportive. All you have to do is show up, get comfortable, and allow the experience to meet you where you are.

We are excited to invite you to our next Sounds & Stillness event, a morning of sound healing and gentle mindfulness hosted by Risework Therapy. Led by founder and therapist Sam DeFrancescantonio alongside sound healer Amanda Baiocco, this event is an invitation to pause, to land, to listen, and to realign with what is most true for you.
What to Expect:
We'll begin with a short mindfulness talk and guided practice from Sam. This is a chance to arrive in the present moment, soften into your body, and support your nervous system with care.
Then, Amanda will lead a meditative soundbath experience using singing bowls, chimes, and frequency-based instruments. All you need to do is lie back and receive. The sounds will wash over you, offering a space to release what feels heavy and restore your inner balance.
No experience with meditation or sound healing is necessary-just bring yourself, exactly as you are.
After the Session:
We invite you to continue the morning with light refreshments at Osney Café & Social, located next door. Join us for iced coffee, treats, and community connection.
