Meet Ruth

Ruth Shelton is the Outreach Coordinator at Risework Therapy and is passionate about building meaningful connections within the community. With a background in recruitment, relationship building, and mental health, Ruth works to create partnerships that increase access to mental health services and wellness resources throughout Nova Scotia.

Ruth holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology, a Master of Science in Psychiatry Research from Dalhousie University, and is currently completing her Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She brings experience in community engagement, recruitment, and counselling, allowing her to connect with individuals and organizations in an authentic and approachable way.

In her outreach role, Ruth collaborates with healthcare providers, businesses, community organizations, and local partners to promote mental wellness, reduce barriers to care, and help connect people with the support they need.
